Lindsay Star Toomey has always been an artist first and foremost. She always found herself seeking new creative outlets as a form of expression. From painting, to drawing, to photography, to interior and apparel design, Lindsay found different ways to bring her visions to life. This path naturally lead her toward becoming a footwear designer after studying product development and fashion design. She had not so much chosen her career as it has chosen her. ” I love what I do, and I do it with love, allowing my passion to guide me every step of the way. My interest lies equally for footwear and apparel/accessory design. What I am most passionate about is the creative process and all it entails. From designing on a blank sheet of paper, to the final product. It’s in the journey of the design that I find the most rewarding. It’s getting to watch my visions come to life.”
Toomey creates her own design process to execute her work, making every step authentic along the way. Her style is simple and sophisticated at best, having underlaying hints of playfulness and a sense of tongue in cheek vibe. ” When it comes to my lifestyle and my artwork, my inspiration is driven within. Collectively organizing and balancing my internal feelings and visions through clarity of understanding of it’s place in this world. I am a firm believer in the basics of life.”
LST creations are inspired by a variety of elements and vary per design project. However her passion is driven by her imagination, infatuation with all things intricate, ancient, and unfamiliar. LST knows if she can imagine it, she can create it.
Lindsay Star’s multiple collaboration with major brands worldwide has allowed her to travel the world, as well as have her designs sold and advertised globally.
When LST is not living and working in Los Angeles, she’s traveling the world in search of her latest inspiration and getting a taste of the unfamiliar.
