Trompe L’oeil!
Incorporating tactile illusions in footwear designs is trending in a major way for F/W 14 with this Trompe L’oeil twist. The designs merge leggings and socks into the upper design itself, creating the appearance of separate pieces. I really love this design element because it brings out a playful, inner child vibe.
I like to piece together my blue suede shoe design with taupe fishnet or ruffle polka dot socks when playing with this trend.
I like piecing together this look with a floral print romper and coral accessories.
Thanks for taking a peek <3
More Metallics!
Loving this trend I’m seeing of metallics in different materials, components and finishes! I love combining lucite heel pieces with classic solid, primary color uppers in a shoe design, and topping that look with trending pop colors and flashy materials, like sequins and silk in wardrobe.
Below are a couple of my designs in White and Black leather with a mirror metallic lining that ties in with the chrome finish on the heel piece. Topped with a back bow with hidden elastic goring for added comfort.
MONOCHROME
Loving this trend of monochrome combinations of jet black and stark white which creates a very chic, edgy, yet sophisticated vibe.
Below is a design I created a few years back that is in the same vein as trending products today. I love how fashion always recycles itself with a slight reinvention. It’s all just a matter of timing really.
Incorporating these looks into everyday style. A special thanks to my amazing friends who shot this and who also love to play dress up as much as I do 🙂 You know who you are! Xx

Lineapelle
Images and trends from the Lineapelle show in Italy. The show consists of over 1000 exhibitors from over 43 countries showcasing the latest leathers, materials, accessories, and components. Juxaposed designs combining metal with wooden elements creating an organic, geometric, yet contrasting vibe was one of the main trends that grabbed my attention. Hope you enjoy!

Agenda tradeshow
A huge part of the design process is exploring the latest trends within different cultures and markets.  AGENDA trade show caters to the streetwear, skate, and surf industry showcasing hundreds of brands for over 10 years. Below images represent the latest trend research and inspiration seen from the show. These are also key features for new designs in the works. Hope you enjoy!
FLOWER POWER
S/S 14 examines acid modernism through psychedelic views of tropical landscapes and a sense of Fauvism. Exotic large scale floral / landscapes prints and graphics that evoke a connection between dreams and creativity. Designers appear to crave exuberant fashion glowing with bright colors and vibrant motifs which is can be seen in the trend research images below.
Key design components I’ve noticed trending for S/S 14:
-Platform wedge heels are magnified to oversized heavy effect
-Layered straps belt the foot with additional layers jutting down, over and across the heel and ankle
-Floral applications flourish at the rear of the heel for additional excess, over the top effect.
